A good turn out. Jim won best 90 thru 99 car stealing some thunder from Stangpede. Members attending were Cheri, Jim, me, Mike Hill and Steve Aguilera. Hendrick Nowells and Karen K. stopped by to visit with us.

La Mesa’s 11th Annual Flag Day Parade

The City of La Mesa’s 11th Annual Flag Day Parade was held on June 2, 2007. This La Mesa tradition drew thousands of spectators and featured local high school and military bands, community groups, decorative floats, local dignitaries and even clowns participated in the celebration. The parade started at Porter Hall on the corner of La Mesa Boulevard and Memorial Drive then continued on La Mesa Boulevard through the charming shops and restaurants in the downtown village and ended at the Civic Center. Area businesses and spectators lined the streets showing their respect and love for our flag and our country by waving flags provided by the La Mesa Exchange Club. MCSD members Billy Bruner, Wally Haley, Mike Hill, Mike and Judy Kropp, Rick Lewis and Pat Sweeney represented the club and supported the event by volunteering their time and use of their convertibles to transport dignitaries in the parade.
